The miscarriage workup told me NOTHING. NADA. ZILCH. Well Dr. S had prepared me for this. We still know nothing. Fun, right?
I’m really happy that Dr. S calls me with the results and not a nurse. It would really irk me otherwise.
Holy O! June 18, 2008
I just saw Dr. S today. It’s been over 3 weeks since my D&C and I’m about to O on my own this weekend. A d&c can really shake stuff up in there and help spit out an egg. I’m kinda in shock. Me — O on my own??? Holy fuckity shizz. Well at least my body bounces back well.
Dr. S is a rock star. He sat down with me and MPS for an entire hour today. He gave us tons of info:
- miscarriage work up most likely won’t find anything b/c I have a normal body that likes to misbehave
- next options – continue Clomid plus IUI or IVF
- uterus looks to be in good ole shape
- about to O on my own this weekend and to have loads of sexin’
- Dr. S told us that we are not infertile (it just felt good to hear that — and my second thought was SHIT has someone found my blog??)
Dr. S was totally and completely NOT pushy. I think the best doctors give excellent information and let the patient make the best decision for him or her. Ultimately, it’s up to me to decide whether or not Clomid or IVF is right. I liked the fact that there was no pressure either way but the choice is still mine. I’m feeling hella empowered. Thanks Dr. S!!!
Clomid & IUI could work for me b/c I do get pregnant fairly easily once I take drugs. Lots of horny sex and I get knocked up. I just can’t stay that way. Could it all possibly be horrific bad luck? Maybe. I know that I just never want to go through a miscarriage again. At this point I’m leaning towards IVF. Le Sigh. I just don’t know… I need to digest the information.
Dr. S was forthright with his statistics. His stats are kinda off the hook by the way. Woohoo!!! He pulled out an excel spreadsheet the moment MPS asked for live birth stats. He humored me and all of my crazy questions.
It was an awesome visit with my fertility dude and I was in high anxiety mode this morning – I just didn’t want to go in. It’s a good thing I did b/c I MIGHT O ON MY OWN!!!!!!!!!!!!
I might get pregnant the old fashioned way? Oh my — am I being optimistic for real???
